IRVING, Texas (AP) An Irving man has died after what police in a Dallas suburb said was a domestic dispute that ended with a gunfight with police officers.

An Irving police statement says 44-year-old Uriel Juarez died Thursday morning at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

Police on Wednesday night responded to a report of an armed man threatening some of his relatives. They later saw the suspect in a vehicle and attempted a traffic stop - leading to a chase.

Irving police say the pursuit ended when the suspect pulled into the driveway of a residence, got out and started firing at officers with an AK-47 assault-style rifle.

Two officers returned fire and the suspect was shot multiple times.
