A Harris County K-9 is responsible for finally tracking down and capturing Montgomery County escapee Britt Privatte.
Just after Midnight Thursday, Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies, along with Harris County Sheriff's Deputies, Texas Rangers and the U.S. Marshalls, were following up on leads that Privatte was seen near a hotel in Harris County near Interstate 45 and Cypresswood Drive.
When investigators spotted Privatte, he took of into some nearby woods. A Harris County K-9 Unit tracked him until officers closed in. That's when Privatte jumped from a tree to run from officers, but the K-9 subdued him.
Privatte was taken to a local hospital and treated for dog bites. He was then taken back to the Montgomery County Jail.
During the investigation and search for the inmate 11 inmates of the Montgomery County Jail have been charged with hindering apprehension, one person from the Cleveland, Montgomery County area with tampering with evidence and investigators anticipate facilitating escape and other charges could be forthcoming on others as the investigation continues.
