Kyle Field's Field is On the Ground at the Redeveloping Stadium

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY - Another sign of progress has sprouted at Kyle Field with about a month to go before the home Texas A&M football opener.

Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, crews came close to completing installation of grass at the stadium, which is in the final days of this stage of its $450 million redevelopment.

The Bermuda grass, which was grown in North Texas, has been driven in each night this week and installed during cooler hours. A portion of the field was laid down last week, but heavy rains in North Texas delayed the process of pulling the grass up.

Texas A&M opens its six-game home schedule on September 6 against Lamar. A&M System officials have repeatedly stated the project is on time and on budget.

After the home schedule is completed, the alumni side of the stadium will be prepared for implosion. A rebuilding of that side is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of the 2015 home schedule.

News 3 was in North Texas as the grass was being prepared for transport to College Station. The story will be featured during Aggie Gameday, KBTX's award-winning pregame show live from Kyle Field before each home game.
