Cat on Transformer Causes Massive Power Outage in College Station

COLLEGE STAITON College Station Utilities is assessing the damage after a massive power outage Thursday morning.

Crews believe that a cat on top of a transformer caused that outage.

CSU says it will probably take until noon Thursday to get the substation back to normal operation.

Customers north of FM 2818 are urged to conserve energy Thursday morning as crews are picking up their load from other substations.

According to the utility company, a customer reported a flash early Thursday at the Post Oak Substation.
