A former Baptist preacher has been arrested in San Antonio after being indicted by a Liberty County grand jury on two counts of sexual assault of a child.
As detectives with the Liberty Police Department continue to investigate, 58-year-old Eddie Shauberger awaits transfer back to Liberty County.
He was the pastor of the Oak Island Baptist Church in Chambers County.
Shauberger is no stranger to legal problems. He was indicted once in 2009 and twice in 2010. Back then, the charges were Tampering With a Governmental Document, Engaging in Organized Crime and Aggravated Perjury.
In addition, Shauberger has had political aspirations. Three times, he unsuccessfully ran for State Representative of District 18.
