Are you looking to get your library fines reduced while helping the local community?

The Texas A&M University Libraries will offer an opportunity on Feb. 17-21 to forgive library fines by contributing to the Brazos Valley Food Bank.

Through the Food for Fines program, those with library fines can donate non-perishable (no glass jars) food items to the Libraries for the Food Bank. Eligible items include peanut butter (plastic jars only); canned fruits, vegetables, chicken, tuna or soups; cereal and pasta.

Participants can drop off donations at the following library locations Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21:

Sterling C. Evans Library AskUs Desk

West Campus Library Services Desk

Policy Sciences and Economics Library Service Desk

Medical Sciences Library Client Services Desk

Each donated item will reduce the fine by $1 up to a maximum of $50 per person. Patrons will get a receipt for their donation and credit on their library account. The program excludes replacement fees for lost or damaged items and billed items.

For questions on the program, contact Tonya Carter at tcarter89@library.tamu.edu or call (979) 458-1439.
