NORMANGEE - A thunderstorm that moved across Leon County Tuesday evening took its toll on a home in Normangee.

Lightning is believed to have struck the home at the corner of 7th and Main Streets around 6:00 p.m., setting it on fire.

The homeowner says her son was home and got out safely with two dogs. Sadly, some other pets died in the fire.

The home was heavily damaged. The American Red Cross is helping the family who lived there.
