COLLEGE STATION- Bikers from around the community came together today to enjoy the best chili recipes for a good cause.
The third annual chili cook off at Independence Harley Davidson in South College Station hosted bikers and their families to raise money for the True Blue Animal Rescue. The event featured everything from a kid's zone to a second hand swap meet. All proceeds from the cook off went to True Blue to help with animal food and costs associated with fostering rescued animals.
The star attraction was of course the chili, which was judged by taste testers. The prized concoctions earned shiny motorcycle-themed trophies. There was even a People's Choice award in which event-goers picked their favorite overall bowl of chili.
Event organizers said there were about twenty five booths set up to sample chili and even adopt dogs rescued by True Blue and its partner organizations.
