The future of transportation in our area was the focus Tuesday for local leaders meeting at the College Station Hilton.
Chamber of Commerce members, along with business and state lawmakers gathered to call on the state to increase its funding for transportation projects including the passing of Proposition 1.
Prop 1 would move a little less than a billion-and-a-half dollars from state oil and gas revenue to pay for highway projects.
If the proposition passes, the money would be transferred to the rainy day fund for future transportation projects.
