Bryan - Jose Estrada, 26, of Bryan was convicted by a Brazos County jury Wednesday for the offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The jury deliberated less than two hours before returning its verdict. The same jury later sentenced Estrada to 30 years in prison for the offense after two hours of deliberation. Due to the age of the victim, who was 5 years old at the time of the offense, the defendant is not eligible for parole.
Kara Comte and Brian Price prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Texas. Following the sentencing, Comte stated, “The courage shown by the victim in the victim in this case resulted in justice being served today. The jury’s verdict sends a clear message that children in Brazos County will be protected from sexual predators.”
