News 3 has learned of some shocking behavior involving several local Texas DPS troopers.
"We demonstrate honesty, openness, and respect in all we do."
These are core values of the Texas Department of Public Safety, but the integrity of three local DPS troopers is taking center stage after being found at a strip club in Austin, while in town for training.
News 3 has learned the men were inside Sugar's Uptown Cabaret, apparently having dinner, but their marked cruiser was parked outside.
It's a privilege to serve as a trooper and accountability is something else they hold in high regard.
On their website it says troopers "seek and accept responsibility for their actions," so we asked headquarters about the incident.
Tom Vinger, the assistant chief of public affairs released a statement saying;
"The troopers were off duty and not in uniform. This is a personnel issue that will be addressed."
At this time, DPS cannot confirm if getting dinner...and a show is against policy.
The three troopers in question work in Leon and Madison County.
