Locals Get Amazing Pictures of Comet Pan-STARRS

Comet Pan-STARRS shined down on the Lone Star State last night and you've still got a handful of chances to the see the comet that won't come back to this part of the universe for quite some time.

Several locals took pictures of the comet Monday night. Sid Ehlert took pictures of the comet at Lake Bryan around 8:15 Monday night.

In College Station, David Young, a member of the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club took a snapshot of the comet at College Station High School at 8:19 p.m.

The comet should be easier to spot over the next few days as it rises in our horizon and should be visible around 8:00 p.m.

The comet will be just to the left of the crescent moon Tuesday night, and Wednesday it should appear just below the moon.

The comet has just completed its first trip by the sun and isn't going to return to this part of the solar system for a million years.
