Loan Ranger Bandit Suspect Caught

On August 17, 2012 at approximately 1128 hrs, officers with the College Station Police Department responded to the FedStar Credit Union in the 700 blk of Harvey Road in regards to a report of an aggravated robbery that had just occurred.

Bank personnel reported that the suspect, a white male with glasses, jacket and backwards ball cap, produced a pistol and demanded money from the teller. After obtaining money from the teller the suspect fled and a search of the area as well as other areas of College Station did not locate him.

Detectives with the College Station Police Department worked in conjunction with local representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to further the investigation.

During that subsequent follow-up, information was learned that the suspect in this offense was connected with multiple other robberies in Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. Subsequent efforts to locate and identify the suspect, dubbed the “Loan Ranger Bandit” in numerous media accounts, continued through June 2014.

On July 1, 2014 a similar bank robbery was reported in Benton, Arkansas and a suspect was located and taken into custody by Troopers with the Arkansas State Police.

Through additional investigation by the Arkansas State Police and FBI this suspect was positively linked to the FedStar Credit Union robbery in College Station on August 17, 2012.

Federal authorities are handling the prosecution of the suspect related to this and multiple other robberies. The suspect in this offense has been identified as:
