COLLEGE STATION One man learned the hard way that you don't fire a gun outside of a bar.
Brazos County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 38-year-old Donald A. Wilczak for reportedly firing his handgun outside The Beer Joint on Highway 30 late Thursday night, then driving off. Grimes County Sheriff's Deputies stopped him on Highway 30, near FM 244. According to the arrest report, the deputy saw an empty casing inside his car that matched the witness reports from the bar.
Brazos County Sheriff's Deputies spoke with Willczak about the incident. He told them there was a fight at the bar and he fired two shots into the air over Highway 30 to clear the area. Willczak wanted to scare people away from his car. He told deputies that the gun belonged to his mother.
Willczak was arrested and charged with Unlicensed Carrying of a Weapon on Alcohol Premises. There is no bond set.
