A man was arrested for drugs a few hundred yards away from a Bryan park, so now he’s facing prison time.
Investigators arrested 31-year-old Rosario Valdez for possession of marijuana and cocaine.
Police say Valdez was in a car parked outside Billar El Tapatio, a pool hall in Bryan. They found cold beer inside the car and, after searching Valdez, they also found marijuana and cocaine. The incident happened about 300 yards away from Neal Park in Bryan.
Valdez would have been charged with a state jail felony for the drugs, but because he was in a drug free zone, that bumps the charge up to a 3rd degree felony. If guilty, he could face 2-10 years in prison.
