Man Arrested for Illegal Drug Possession in College Station

An Austin man has been arrested in College Station after police say he was allegedly in possession of illegal drugs.

It happened just after midnight Monday at a traffic stop near the intersection of FM 2818 and George Bush Drive.

Police say they found a large quantity of heroin and psilocybin mushrooms, as well as a handgun in a vehicle being driven of 34 year old Ruben Carillo.

Police say Carillo was in possession of the illegal drugs with the intent to distribute them.

Carillo was charged with the following:
Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 4grams-200grams
Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 4grams-400grams
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon

The case is under investigation.
