Brazos Valley Burn Bans: The following counties are under a Burn Ban: Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Washington
WASHINGTON, TX According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, on July 16, 2013, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported Burglary of a Habitation in which a resident of the Bluebonnet Hills Subdivision reported his house had been burglarized and that nine firearms, along with electronics and jewelry had been stolen.
Sheriff’s Investigator Sergeant Clay Bosse, assigned to the investigation, learned that 24 year old Corsicana resident Logan James Sachtleben had pawned all nine firearms at a local pawn shop within a short period of time and the stolen jewelry was found to have been sold by Sachtleben at a local gold buying business, even though the true owners name was inscribed on the inside of a Texas A&M class ring.
After developing probable cause for the arrest of Sachtleben, Sergeant Bosse requested the issuance of nine (9) arrest warrants for the State Jail Felony offense of Theft of a Firearm and one (1) Misdemeanor arrest warrant for Theft. Sergeant Bosse, after receipt of the arrest warrants, learned Sachtleben had departed Washington County and was residing at a residence in Corsicana.
On August 9, 2013, and after inquiries were made related to the whereabouts of Sachtleben by Sergeant Bosse, Sachtleben contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and indicated his intentions to turn himself in, which he did on 08-13-2013. Sachtleben is being held on bonds set by Justice of Peace James McCune totaling $46,500.
