Man Charged with Robbery After Attempt Fails

BRAZOS COUNTY A Bryan man is in jail after attempting to rob a convenience store Monday evening.

27-year-old Artemio Victor Deleon was arrested and charged with Robbery after he tried to hold up the Sunrise Food Mart off Leonard Road in Bryan.

According to the police report, Deleon walked into the store and tried to hand a note to the clerk that read "give me your money and keep your hands above your waist, do not put your hands down."

The clerk refused to take it saying she couldn't read and didn't have her glasses. Deleon got mad and walked out of the store.

Investigators used surveillance video to track him down. He's in the Brazos County Jail under $10,000 bond.
