A College Station man is in jail after firing a gun inside his parent's home.

22-year-old Joshua David Sledge reportedly fired a handgun around 9 o'clock Tuesday night inside a house in the 900 block of Winged Foot. When cops got to the house they found Sledge being held down by his father and another man.

According to the police report, Sledge was acting very erratic while in handcuffs. Officers said he was either extremely angry or calm.

Police charged him with deadly conduct for firing a gun in or near a habitation. While they searched Sledge's room and bathroom, police found a small plastic bag of a substance.

The substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Sledge was taken to the College Station Medical Center. While there, he was asked to take a drug test.

A male staff member from the hospital tried to help Sledge urinate into a container. That's when Sledge kicked the man in the groin.

In addition to deadly conduct, Sledge was charged with assault on a public servant and possession of a controlled substance.

He is being held in the Brazos County jail without bond.
