Man Fled Troopers with Toddler in Car, Charged with Child Endangerment

BRAZOS COUNTY After leading Department of Public Safety Troopers on a chase, a Bryan man is now being charged with Child Endangerment.

According to DPS, 37-year-old Joshua Cotey Pickens was spotted speeding on Highway 6 south of OSR Sunday. When the Trooper turned around to make the traffic stop, Pickens exited the highway reportedly going more that 120 miles per hour. The report says that Pickens u-turned and headed south on the Highway 6 frontage road, then cut through a gas station parking lot at F-M 28-18 before getting away from Troopers.

Brazos County Sheriff's Deputies were sent to Pickens house.
According to the arrest report, Pickens fled out the door and into some woods. He was found up a tree and arrested.

Pickens' one year old son was in the car while he was running from police.

He's being charged with Driving with an Invalid License with two previous convictions, evading arrest, deadly conduct and child endangerment.
