COLLEGE STATION A Bryan man has been arrested after bolting during a traffic stop and leading DPS troopers on a high speed chase down Highway 6.

According to DPS, 60-year-old Larry Jones was pulled over on Highway 6 around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz because his headlights were turned off.

Authorities say Jones came to a stop along the shoulder but then fled northbound on Highway 6.

Troopers pursued until he crashed into the back of a 2007 Dodge Ram near the Texas World Speedway.

Debris from that crash flew and struck a 2014 grey Buick, damaging the vehicle but the occupants inside the Buick were not injured.

Two occupants in the Dodge Ram were taken to Scott & White Hospital to be checked out.

Jones was arrested and is facing a charge of evading arrest.

Authorities say DWI charges are possible pending a blood test and that they discovered several prescription bottles inside of Jones' vehicle.
