COLLEGE STATION Update from CSPD:
On January 29, 2014 at approximately 0231 hrs, officers of the College Station Police Department were dispatched to the 1800 blk of Holleman in regards to a report of a male that had unlawfully entered an apartment at that location.
Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, an 18 year old female, and learned the following information.

The victim reported that the suspect in this incident, a 26 year old College Station resident, was an acquaintance of hers who had arrived at her apartment and forced entry into the residence through a spare bedroom window.

The suspect was reported to have forced his way into the victim’s bedroom where he confronted the victim and another acquaintance. The suspect was then reported to have made comments about possibly harming himself and proceeded to obtain a knife from the victim’s kitchen and lock himself in the spare bedroom.

The victim and the other acquaintance, a 21 year old College Station resident, were removed from the apartment by police who then began attempts to contact the suspect to verify his well-being.

These efforts proved unsuccessful and as a result the College Station Police Department Hostage Negotiation and SWAT teams were activated to respond to the scene in an attempt to contact the suspect and safely resolve the situation.

At approximately 0536 hrs, after the suspect had cut off communications with negotiators, officers heard sounds of what they believed to be the suspect attempting to harm himself.

As a result, entry was made into the bedroom that the suspect had locked himself inside, and he was secured to check his welfare without any injuries or incident related to police action.

The male was subsequently transported to the College Station Medical Center for treatment of non-incapacitating self-inflicted injuries.

The victim in this incident has elected to not press charges so the suspect will not be identified. Ten residents from six apartments around the victim’s residence were evacuated for approximately 45 minutes as a precautionary measure during this incident.
