Man Sentenced To 15 Years Following Leon County Drug Bust

WACO - A federal judge in Waco sentenced an Ohio man to 15 years in prison for what a State Trooper found in his car during a traffic stop in Leon County.

Rodney Davis, 31 of Cincinnati, Ohio, was stopped by the Texas Department of Public Safety August 6, 2013, outside Centerville. The trooper found six kilos of cocaine and a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson.

Davis was later convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a drug trafficking crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Wednesday, Davis was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release and fined $3,000.

Davis was previously convicted of a 2001 robbery in Hamilton County, Ohio.
