BRYAN - Bryan Police say a 50-year-old man is now dead after a Dodge truck hit him while he was crossing the road on his bicycle.

Officers say it happened around 9:30 Sunday night in the 900 block of San Jacinto. The Dodge truck was traveling eastbound when the accident happened.

The victim, Victor Dewayne Lewis, was transported to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan where police say he died from his injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals Lewis failed to yield right of way at a stop sign.

Bryan police say intoxication is not believed to be a contributing factor for the driver of the truck and the driver is being fully cooperative during the investigation.
