A Mexico-based company may be able to bottle up a little positive economic news for the Brazos Valley.

The City of Bryan is offering the Gunler company some incentives to build an olive and vegetable oil bottling plant here.

And if the deal is signed the $14 million plant would employ more than two hundred workers at the Texas Triangle Park.

It's a potential building boom in Bryan as Gunler, a Mexico-based food distributor is looking to open up a brand new bottling facility in Bryan bringing 230 jobs.

"We understand they are going to break ground as soon as possible," said Bryan City Council Member Paul Madison.

He and other council members approved an agreement Tuesday night to offer economic incentives to bring Gunler to town.

"They will pay us 30 percent of the tax value, the taxable value of the property... Basically they're gonna produce edible oil and they are gonna use things like flax seeds, sunflower seeds and other types of vegetable seeds soybeans to make this oil," Madison said.

Gunler would become the first business to come to the Texas Triangle Park at Highway 6 and F-M 2818. The next generation industrial park will provide rail service to the Port of Houston.

Gunler distributes it's goods across Mexico and Latin America and has clients including Walmart, HEB and Kroger and has corporate offices in the Woodlands.

Todd McDaniel is President and CEO of the Research Valley Partnership and tells us the Gunler jobs will bring an average salary of $30,000.

Those positions would include lab technicians, production technicians and entry level work too, to the 100,000 square foot facility.

"It's my understanding they will receive benefits or at least be eligible for access to benefits. What we are wanting to make sure is that we have livable wages for these employees and we think the majority of these employees will be hired from within our region," said McDaniel.

"You know we are using the situation, 'If you build they will come,' you know so that's what we're looking at. This is really a very good situation for the City of Bryan," said Paul Madison.

Groundbreaking is expected to start as early as next month with the first 25 acre phase opening by summer.

Initially 65 people will be hired with an expansion in the works within the next three years.

This would be Gunler's first manufacturing plant in the U.S.
