Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office say they have found the suspect who is believed to have struck and killed a man inside a bar early this morning.

Investigators say they worked throughout the night, and this morning at 10:30, they arrested Toriano Renauld Freeman, 30, at a convenience store at the intersection of Sawdust Road and Interstate 45.

Deputies say he is charged with murdering Christopher A. Dillon. Dillon died after investigators say he intervened in a bar fight between two other men at the Good Fortune Club near Rayford on I-45 near The Woodlands.

Witnesses told deputies that the suspect arrived at the bar around midnight and asked another customer if he could use his cell phone. He said yes, but when the customer tried to get his phone back, a fight started.

Dillon intervened and the suspect allegedly punched him several times. That's when investigators say the victim fell to the floor unconscious and died. The suspect fled the scene.

A sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says there are no indications a weapon was used.

Freeman was also wanted for an outstanding misdemeanor theft warrant.
