The Bryan Fire Department is investigating a fire at a Bryan home that they say had flames blazing through the roof when they arrived at the scene.
Steve Nelson, a neighbor was worried about the safety of the family and the fire spreading.
"They smell smoke and they said I don't think anybody would be barbecuing this early and they looked out and it was bad the smoke was coming in bad. And you know anytime there's a fire next to you, you're going to be concerned about your family as well," said Nelson.
Firefighters say the fire started around 9:30 a.m. at a home on the 3000 block of Hummingbird Circle between Harvey Mitchell Parkway and West Villa Maria Road.
Residents at the house were not home at the time according to investigators.
The Bryan Fire Department says a cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
