Lanes Reopened after Accident on Hwy 21 Near Navasota River

**Update****
DPS Troopers have released the name of the drivers of the two cars involved in the accident.

The driver of the Infiniti is 22 year old Clara Harris from Grand Prairie and the driver of the Pontiac is 21 year old Lindsey Roberson from Normangee. Roberson had a 12 week old baby boy in the back seat of her car. Troopers credit the car safety seat the infant was in for keeping him safe.

All three were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. According to Troopers the baby boy has a broken femur, Roberson has a broken ankle, Harris has bruised lungs.

**Update** Both east and westbound lanes of State Highway 21 near the Navasota River at the Brazos-Madison County Line are open to traffic.

News 3 Crews on the scene say one driver tried to pass another vehicle when it hit an on coming car head on. A blue Pontiac collided with a Gold Infiniti.

DPS has opened up one lane of traffic and is alternating East and West bound lanes of highway 21.

***Update 9:59***
DPS officials confirm that in fact no one has died because of this wreck.

Two people have been transported to a hospital. One person was transported in critical condition.are hurt and have been taken to local hospitals

Traffic is still shut down in the area, and is backed up from the Navasota River to Old Kurten Lane on Highway 21 East.

Witnesses at the wreck site describe the scene a frenzied with bystanders helping those injured in the crash.

News 3 is enroute to a multiple car crash on Highway 21 near the Navasota River at the Brazos-Madison County Line.

Information is still coming in at this time but we're hearing reports that people may be trapped with a possible ejection.

Highway 21 Eastbound is being shut down completely so avoid the area if at all possible.
