GRIMES COUNTY - The identity of a 32 year old man killed in a crash early Easter morning in Navasota has been released.
Investigators say Derrick Tunsel was killed when he was thrown from his passenger seat of an SUV which rolled after it lost control just after 1 a.m. while trying to pass another vehicle in the 900 block of FM 379. Police say the vehicle flipped, hit two trees and landed in a ditch.
Tunsel was taken to a hospital where he died. The twenty year old driver was treated at the scene and a second passenger suffered minor injuries. No charges have been filed as of Monday afternoon, but officers say they're still looking into it.
