Law enforcement from across Brazos County came together to kick off National Night Out.
Different police and fire agencies in our area already work together to protect and serve the community, but they want to send out the message that citizens can pitch in too.
Public safety officials say you can do that by simply being aware of what’s going on in your neighborhood.
The National Night Out Kick-Off featured live fire demonstrations, child finger printing, helicopters and ladder trucks from Bryan FD and College Station PD.
Hundreds of people turned out for the event in the Target parking lot in Bryan.
Brazos County Sheriff's Office, Bryan Police and Fire Departments, College Station Police and Fire Departments, Texas A&M University Police Department, PHI (emergency helicopter service), Brazos County Volunteer Fire Department's District 2, 3 and 4, Brazos County 9-11, Brazos County Emergency Management, and TEEXS were involved in the kick off celebration.
The official National Night Out will be Oct. 2, 2012.
