If you want to get outdoors with the kids this weekend, the City of Navasota has the right idea.
It's hosting a free Kidfish Saturday morning from 9-to-noon at the Patout Pond Park just off Highway 6 North in Navasota.
Registration begins at 9, and the first 200 registrants get a free t-shirt sponsored by the Navasota Noon Lions Club.
Door prizes will also be awarded.
Kids can learn knot tying, casting, fish identification and habitat protection.
You're encouraged to bring a fishing pole, tackle, and plenty of sunscreen.
But a limited number of fishing poles will be available for use.
And they do stock that pond with fish, so get ready to catch.
