There is only one way to know if your destiny is written in the stars and that is to audition February 6 at 7 p.m. for Navasota Theatre Alliance's first show of 2012 “Life with Mother.” It is the sequel to our 2010's highly successful comedic romp “Life with Father.”

Set in the late 1880’s, this play revolves around a family with a disorganized, but well meaning Mother and an overbearing, and highly organized Father. Mother’s attempt to provide an engagement ring for one of her three boys, who wants it for his fiancee, sets this play in motion! Mother, herself, never having an engagement ring of her own, is determined to get one for the boy. Mrs. Bessie Fuller Logan comes to visit. She was formerly engaged to Father and when the engagement was broken, Bessie refused to give back the ring to Father. Mother insists Father recover that ring for his son.

Mrs. Rainey, Artistic Director for the theatre, once again takes on the role of Mother proving, as she has in the past, she can perform and direct with excellence in both capacities. Reprising the role as Father is Steve Haley.

Mrs. Rainey hopes to draw on the talents of veterans and newcomers in Navasota, and the surrounding communities to fill out the cast. Eleven actors are needed to complete the cast.

Roles still open include one Male 10-16 and one Male Aged 7-12, one woman aged 40-75, two men aged 30-75, two women Aged 30-75, two women Aged 15-22, one woman aged 45-60, one man aged 50-75.
