Just before noon Sunday, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was called to Loop 494 and Keith Road in the Eastern portion of Montgomery County from the Union Pacific Railroad reporting that a train had struck a pedestrian walking on the tracks.
The victim, Chistopher Neves, 18, of New Caney was struck and killed by the train as he walked south on the tracks going to his girlfriend’s home with music ear-phones in his ear. Though the train braked and was sounding the horn the victim did not move from the tracks.
Major Crime Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene and examined evidence and conducted interviews. Judge Metts ordered an autopsy and the victim’s body was taken to the Forensic Center in Conroe.
