UPDATE: One of the state's 'Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders' has been arrested.
The Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division, Texas Highway Patrol, and Ennis Police Department arrested Ezekiel Harris August 13 at an apartment complex in Ennis.
They received a tip about his whereabouts. That person will receive the $3,000 reward.
Harris was convicted in 2004 of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Brenham.
Since then, police say Harris has repeatedly violated his probation and failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
In April 2013, Harris was released from prison and moved to Bryan. He failed to report a change of address, and as a result, the Brazos County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for his arrest in May 2013 for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration (Life/Annually).
A man wanted for failing to comply with registration requirements as a sex offender has ties to Bryan and Brenham.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help in locating Ezekiel Harris, 28, who has been added to the state's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders List. A $3,000 reward is being offered for information that could lead to his capture.
According to DPS, Harris' last known address was in Bryan. He reportedly also has ties to Brenham.
In addition to sexual assault charges, DPS says he has faced charges of evading arrest, criminal trespass, and has violated probation.
Standing 5'6", Harris weighs 150 pounds and has tattoos on his upper right and left arms. He also has scars on his upper left arm and his right leg.
DPS says not to attempt to make contact with anyone on their list because they could be armed and dangerous.
