Northbound Hwy 6 Reopened After Oversized Load Stopped Traffic in CS

COLLEGE STATION - UPDATE: Freeway is back open for traffic. The northbound Highway 6 feeder road was closed for just under an hour.

Northbound Highway 6 has been shut down between Harvey Road and University Drive in College Station.

Police say Friday morning, an oversized load is could not get under the University overpass. The 18-wheeler stopped before it went under the overpass, realizing it wouldn't fit under the bridge. Police are on scene helping the semi reverse on the northbound lane towards Harvey Road.

Authorities say drivers should avoid the area.
