An off-duty Navasota police officer shot and killed a driver after he was allegedly pinned by a car Wednesday evening at a Northwest Harris County Apartment Complex.
It happened around 5 Wednesday evening near Highway 6 and West Road in the Cy-Fair area.
Investigators say the officer who lives at the apartments and performs part-time security work there saw two people sitting in a car and thought it was suspicious.
Investigators say the officer walked up to the car to question the pair, who he thought may have been engaged in a drug deal, when the car suddenly moved forward, pinning him between two cars.
The officer reportedly pulled out a pistol and opened fire.
The car continued driving through the parking lot until it slammed into a pickup.
The 17-year-old driver was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead
The Navasota police officer was not seriously injured.
An off-duty Navasota police officer reportedly encountered a drug deal in northwest Harris County Wednesday and shots were fired.
The incident happened in the 8700 block of Point Park near Highway 6 in the Cy-Fair area.
Investigators say the officer shot one of the drug dealers who was driving the car, and the driver ran over another person.
Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell says the officer was not injured. His name has not been released.
