On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00pm, The Bryan Police Department will promote Officer Jon Agnew to the rank of Sergeant in a ceremony with family and friends.
The ceremony will take place in the Secondary Courtroom of the Bryan Justice Center. The public is welcome to join us in this celebration.
Officer Jon Agnew is a 16 year veteran of the Bryan Police Department. Officer Agnew started his career on patrol in 1997. During Officer Jon Agnew’s 16 years of service to his community, he has served many areas such as:
Traffic Safety Unit as a Motorcycle Officer 2001-2004 and 2006-2010
Criminal Investigation Division as a Detective 2004-2006
Public Information Officer for the Bryan Police Department 2010-2012
Training and Recruiting Office 2012-2014
Officer Agnew received one of the Dapartment’s highest recognitions when he was awarded Officer of the Year in 2009.
Officer Jon Agnew has received other awards as well:
1998 Departmental Citations for his Initiative, motivation and enforcement of DWI offenses
1999 Department Citation for his exceptional level of performance for six consecutive months
2001 Department Citation for creating a mapping concept for geographical policing.
2011 Community Service Citation for his involvement with the police department and community as the PIO.
Officer Jon Agnew received his Master Peace Officer Certificate in 2009. Officer Agnew has been a member of the Tactical Response Team for the past 14 years and is currently serves on the team.
Sgt. Agnew’s future assignment will be to supervise a patrol unit in the Patrol Services Bureau. Sgt. Jon Agnew will bring exceptional experience to the team and be an asset to the department as a supervisor. Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Agnew on his promotion.
