A man is dead after a motorcycle collided with a car in Montgomery County near the Willis city limits.

Around 8pm Thursday night, 55-year-old Mark Cordero from the Woodlands was westbound on FM 1097 on his 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle with a female passenger when he reached the intersection with Big Horn Trail.

At the same time, a pizza delivery driver was eastbound on FM 1097, in his 1998 Ford Contour, when he failed to yield the right of way.
Cordero was unable to avoid a collision, striking the car's rear passenger door.

He was ejected off the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Cordero's female passenger was transported to St. Luke's in the Woodlands in critical condition.

Cordero's body was transported to the Department of Forensic Services in Conroe.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to the scene.

Witnesses said the bike was traveling under the posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour.

No charges are anticipated and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
