MONTGOMERY COUNTY A woman in Montgomery County passed away Christmas night after her mobile home caught fire.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. between New Caney and Conroe on Deer Glen West Drive just off Highway 242. Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes, only to find the mobile completely engulfed.

It wasn't until the fire was put out that first responders found the victim in her bathroom. Officials believe the woman, who has yet to be identified, was the only person home at the time. Her body has been sent off for autopsy.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
