At least one person was injured in a fire and explosion at a gas plant in La Porte, authorities said.
Officials in La Porte triggered automatic phone calls to residents this morning to say the fire was under control and that no shelter-in-place order was issued.
The explosion happened at the Air Liquide plant, which describes itself on its website as "the world leader in gases for industry, health and the environment."
A company spokeswoman says the facility houses a mix of industrial gases such as nitrogen and hydrogen that are used in the processing of food, beverages and electronics.
Authorities at the scene say air monitoring showed no dangerous substances being circulated.
