A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for Milam, Robertson, Lee, and Leon Counties from 12am to 12pm THURSDAY. A strong cold front has reached the Brazos Valley, and will continue to push south through the early evening hours. Temperatures are expected to fall to or just above a freeze overnight. A scattered rain chance could turn into a scattered, wintry mix between 6am and 10am Thursday. Little-to-no accumulation is expected -- however, caution is urged driving on bridges and overpasses.
A three vehicle accident Tuesday morning in College Station sent one person to the hospital and slowed traffic for about an hour.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of FM 2818 near the Parkway Place Apartments.
Police say a Mustang headed south on 2818 tried to turn right into the apartment complex from the inside lane, cutting off a cement truck in the outside lane.
The cement truck rear ended the Mustang sending it airborne and the sports car collided with a pick-up.
"I saw it a split second before it happened, but it appeared that the Mustang got in front of the cement truck and the cement truck couldn't move so he hit the Mustang and flipped the mustang," a witness said. "Literally the whole car flew into my truck and threw us off the road."
The driver of the Mustang was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
One lane of FM 2818 was shut down for about an hour.
