BRYAN - Bryan Police are investigating a fiery rollover crash that sent one person to the hospital.

According to the preliminary report, a 35-year-old man was traveling southbound on Highway 47 Sunday night when his SUV hit a guardrail near Villa Maria about 8:00 p.m. The guardrail impaled the SUV’s engine, causing it to catch on fire.

The driver was able to escape with non-life threatening injuries. But he was transported to St. Joseph Hospital and then transferred to Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston where he is listed in stable condition.

Police say fatigue is considered to be a contributing factor in the accident.
