The parents of a toddler, who drowned in a motel bathtub in Caldwell, have been arrested for child endangerment and drug possession.
Michael Fredrickson, 36, and Samantha Lange, 24, were arrested Monday.
Caldwell Police say they found methamphetamine in the motel room the couple was living in with their two sons.
Last week, their 1-year-old, Aiden, was found dead in a bathtub, and then their 2 year old son was taken by Child Protective Services.
"They didn't show any concern or sincerity after I told them what they are being charged with. They didn't fight, they didn't argue,” said Caldwell Police Captain Charles Darling.
Darling says the two parents were at the Burleson County Courthouse Monday morning for a CPS hearing in an attempt to get their 2 year old son back from state custody.
He was taken after their other son, Aiden drowned in a bathtub at the Caldwell Motel.
According to the CPS affidavit, the parents were on drugs and either the mother or the 2 year old sibling put Aiden into the tub and turned on the water. It goes on to say the parents were passed out due to heroine and woke up to find the baby floating in the tub.
Aiden was eventually taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
"When I got through interviewing the parents, I went straight to the scene and during the search we located illegal substance in the motel room,” said Darling.
The 2-year-old is still in CPS custody.
The affidavit also states that the mother, Samantha Lange was involved in two previous CPS investigations due to her children testing positive for drugs at birth.
Fredrickson and Lange remain in the Burleson County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
