Detours will be in place near the intersection of Briarcrest and 29th Street starting Friday.
TxDOT says parts of 29th Street will be closed. This location is just down the road from Freedom Boulevard, where construction crews worked to fix pavement problems late last month.
TxDOT says drivers should expect some delays next week. The construction is part of a $4.7 dollar project to widen the busy thoroughfare.
We spoke with one driver who says the delays are a hassle, but worth it.
The traffic tie-ups are expected to last until September 2013.
