Patriotic Salute to Veterans

One thousand American flags were hoisted at Veterans Park in College Station where hundreds celebrated Veteran's Day. The Bryan Rotary Club hosted the Field of Valor where they honored current and fallen veterans.

Hundreds of people gathered to remember and pay respects to family and friends who have served our country. Some members of the crowd were able to see their fallen veteran's name on the memorial for the first time, allowing their legacy to never be forgotten.

"It's very important that I think we as a community should get together to recognize our veterans and current military men and women," said Rep. Bill Flores. The Congressman also said he felt privileged to honor a local veteran not only for his service to our country, but also as a member in the community.

The event concluded with the playing of taps and a firing solute from the Ross Volunteer Company of Texas A&M. The Field of Valor will remain open until November 17.
