Police identified the gunman responsible for the shooting in College Station as 35-year-old Thomas Caffall.
Brazos County Constables went to Caffall's home on the 200 block of Fidelity to serve an eviction notice, according to College Station Police. Shortly after that, Caffall opened fire. Two people were killed and four more were injured in the shootout. One of the people killed was a Brazos County Constable.
Caffall was a Bryan native. His Facebook profile is filled with pictures of weapons he owned. Caffall's family says he went by "Tres". Tres died from a gunshot wound at the hospital.
“Our family was shocked and devastated by the tragedy this afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers go to the families of the deceased and the wounded victims. We mourn them and the loss of Tres. He had been ill. It breaks our hearts his illness led to this,” said Linda Weaver, the gunman’s mother.
Caffall’s family asks for privacy at this time.
