COLLEGE STATION - Police have released photos of a pickup that was used in an armored truck robbery in the parking lot of a College Station bank in hopes that citizen tips might help lead to arrests.
Detectives say the robbery happened at around 2:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Bank of America on University Drive Monday. They believe two men approached the armored truck with weapons and threatened the driver and a guard.
A witness rushed inside the bank and told them about the robbery in progress, and the bank was then put on lockdown.
Police say the suspects got away with cash and left in a white pickup truck that was found abandoned in the 500 block of Cooner Street in College Station.
The truck was reported stolen out of Houston and is a white pickup with A&M decals on its sides.
Police emphasize the truck is not affiliated with the university, but say hope somebody can tell them where it was and who was driving it before the robbery took place. If you know anything you're asked to call College Station Police, or you can leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers by calling their hotline at (979) 775-TIPS.
