Texas Department of Transportation road crews will shut down Highway 6, between University Drive and Briarcrest Monday night.
Crews are removing a sign bridge from over the northbound lanes. They expect to close that section of Highway 6 by 9 o'clock Monday evening. Traffic will detoured to the northbound frontage roads.
TxDOT officials ask that motorists be aware of the closure and obey all traffic control in the area. The lane closure should last until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The sign bridge removal is part of a $9.6 million Highway 6 Ramps Project.
