NAVASOTA UPDATE: Entergy says the power outage Wednesday night was caused by a vulture that flew into a substation. Crews shut down the substation to prevent further damage and keep its workers safe.
About 1,500 customers were affected by the outage and electricity was restored about 1 1/2 hours after it went out.
Some businesses and homes lost electricity in Navasota Wednesday night because of a power outage.
The outage only lasted about an hour, but Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt says some of his officers and state troopers were forced to direct traffic at a couple of intersections when signals went dark.
The outage only affected Entergy customers in Navasota. No word from Entergy yet, on what caused the outage.
