Power Outages In North Texas Dropping

DALLAS (AP) Power outages in North Texas following an ice storm have been dropping as Oncor crews work around the clock.

Oncor reports less than 35,000 outages in the North Texas area as of Sunday morning. That's down from a peak of more than 270,000 on Friday, after the area was pelted with an ice storm that resulted in ice-laden tree limbs falling and downing power lines.

The electric company expects total restoration by late Sunday night.

By Sunday morning, almost 5,000 Oncor employees, contractors and utility workers from other several other states were working to restore power.
